Oh man, where do I start! Since my last post in February, I've finished my website! Everything works, everything is updated, things are lookin' groovy! I'm sure you can ask any artist or web designer, websites are never "done" but they are the most recent "version" with a follow up list of additions to do next. Since I finished all the important stuff, I have some new ideas of little final touches and creative splashes I want to add in for some extra fun. This shouldn't take too long, and it will be a lot less demanding of my mental energy compared to writing policy information, linking pages, checking buttons and spelling, writing descriptions, adding watermarks to hundreds of images, and so on. I have a whole new respect for self-employed artists now, if you're on your own: talk about wearing a ton of hats!

I also made a major decision while finishing my site: I am no longer offering graphic design, web design or animation as services. I came to this decision after I spent 3+ grueling months developing my brand, building this website from scratch, and going through this whole process on my own on weekends and nights. I came to the conclusion that I simply would not have reasonable turn-around time for my clients since I do have a full time "day job." And maybe even more importantly, I don't enjoy doing those things like I do with illustration, painting and custom work. You can get more bang for your buck talking to real web developers and graphic designers who can dedicate 12 hours a day to your project. Sure maybe I can put together a Wix site for you, but it's going to take me 4 months or more possibly haha. Nah, let's just not.

Here is my latest work, used for my banner on my homepage and on all my social media accounts. Rock on little lizard. :)

So from here on out, I just want to focus on projects that I enjoy and I don't want to drain myself by working on things I don't want to do. I did that for 5 years as a graphic designer and it zapped my creative juice quickly. I don't want that to happen again. Simple as that. Sometimes you just have to learn that it's okay to say no to others and yes to yourself.

Anyway, the store will be my next major hurdle that I'll be working on over the next few weeks!
